TimeFinder SnapVX is a local replication solution that is designed to
nondisruptively create point-in-time copies (snapshots) of critical data.
Prerequisites
- The snapshot must not have any links.
- This procedure explains how to terminate snapshots from the TimeFinder/SnapVX dashboard. You can also terminate snapshots from other locations in the user interface. Depending on the location, some of the steps may not apply.
- If the snapshot is Restored, this action terminates the restore session. If you want to terminate the snapshot, the dialog and action have to be run again.
- Storage groups of Celerra FBA emulation may be managed externally using eNAS.
- See
Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.
Steps
-
Select the storage system.
-
Click
Protection and select

To force the operation even though one or more volumes may not be in the normal, expected state, select
Force.
To specify that the operation is for devices in STAR mode, select
Star.
To force the operation when the operation would be rejected, select
SymForce.
| CAUTION: Use extreme caution with the
Force option. If used when a link is copy in progress or when a restore is restore in progress, the
Force option causes an incomplete copy and data on the copy target would not be usable.
